Drugs n alcohol will take my life my son and my health if I dont make a serious commitment to sobriety. I know I can do this! My son n I deserve this. I plan to do aa meetings and steps read books and this site. I need to remember this self-disgust and contempt n utter desperation to be sober n not succumbing to temptation of alcohol and drugs. Please God help me!

I've known that self loathing myself all too well.

There is good news. It will change! I read some of my old post from about 6 months ago and it's night and day for me.

I like me now. Interestingly, once I stopped drinking, I found out I was actually a pretty nice person. Flaws and all.

I took it one thing at a time. I stopped drinking and then dealt with whatever came. I got all the support I needed right here.

Thanks Dee and 360! I made amends to 2 ppl, had a good cry, and am feeling ready for sobriety one day at a time! I will not give up!
