Journal at 19 days sober – using SR treatment :)
Hi SR family (hugs)
I just needed to write to tell you all that my experience on SR has been life changing.
I joined on the 14/07/2013 and I was scared…. Petrified….
I posted that first post shaking like a leaf – my first admission to being a binge drinker. I felt lost, alone, a hopeless mess, scared and like a freak!
Today, 19 days later, I am feeling very different.
Because of the support of such wonderful SR members, both in post and in the chat room, I no longer feel alone or scared. I feel like I’m getting my life together. Thank you SR for this place – I know from the bottom of my heart that I could not have done this without your support. I am a believer… in the power of SR!!!!
… and because of the chat room, I have become a big hugger!!! ((((((hugs))))) lol
The anxiety caused by the waves of emotions and feelings over the past 19 days has been scary to say the least BUT I am no longer numb. For the first time in 16 years – I feel alive!
I am starting to learn who Shell is (and not who everyone else wants her to be – I am also an adult child). I am starting to identify the missing gaps in my emotional development and I’m not scared of them anymore. I know I can heal and work towards being the best Shell I can be. I am no longer afraid to get a therapist!
I wake up this morning, feeling good about myself (even with all the gaps).
