There is hope

I remember this day a year ago. I was distraught. Beyond the average ho hum. I really did not want to live.

Today... I feel very good. Hopeful for today and, god willing, my next.

Driving into NYC to go get an awesome sausage and pepper sandwich. Sober.

I actually have plans later in the day. I could never plan a Saturday beyond 10 AM. I was an early drunk.

There is hope for me. Hope is not a commodity. Its equal among us all. You have it to. Just accept it and it will bring you to soberland.

I am not perfect at this but when I look back... I can see a difference.

This was me a year ago today...

Me a year ago!

Have a grand day, Weasel. Savor every bite of your sandwich, and every minute of your planned Saturday! And congratulations on a hopeful morning- by comparison to the more dismal one you may have had a year ago. It's beautiful thing. :-) :-)

Hey, I remember that post too. I was only a couple of months sober then, and remember your pain so well.

Yes, there is hope. Yesterday I was 14 months sober.

It really does get easier. Good for you Ken xxx

Nice - it's hard to go back to those posts a year ago, isn't it? But at the same time, it keeps us grounded. Thanks for that reminder...and wow, what an eye opening thread to read your posts a year ago. Very brave of you to share that, and also very meaningful and helpful to many of us.

Thanks Ken, have a great day - enjoy that sandwich! Sounds pretty fantastic.

Back from the city.... Lol... Yes driving in NYC is awesome. Road signs and rules are mere suggestion.

Wow, Weasel, that was intense; I have a lump in my throat reading your posts.

I can relate, man......

I'll be glad to share here on my 1 year sober anniversary (another 8 months or so, lol).
Thanks for people like you sharing your life, there is hope for us!

Thank you, and congrats on a year! Hope you enjoyed the sausage and peppers; I've been craving a polish with sauerkraut-n-onions......

Peace,
~Heartfan
