Back on track
Good Morning, Im a newcomer to your site, but a long time drinker. I had 10 years sober, fell on my backside for a year & a half, got nearly 6 months sober again & then tried to have "just one"! that lasted 8 days before I committed myself to detox & am now on day 3. A close friend suggested this site as a wonderful place to find "My People" & I surely am glad to be here instead of out there! It's a great feeling to know that I can potentially reach out when ever I need to find someone who understands!

keyweird, welcome to SR. Congrats on day 3. I love this site exactly because I know these are "our people". I know that they understand me and that I can relate to them. In here is definitely better than out there.

Welcome keyweird! Congratulations on day 3.
I had almost a year of sobriety followed by one drink that eventually cost me 3 1/2 years.
The moderation worked for about two months, after that I was back to drinking more than ever.
I'm back to 128 days now.
Your post is a good reminder not to try moderation again.
