Misplaced beliefs

When I was drinking I always refused alcohol if I was driving - even a shandy!! My rational was 'why would I drink if I'm not getting drunk?'

I used to think this made me a good drinker and those who had one drink and then drove were the risky / problem drinkers.

It's only since I started looking at recovery that I realise I was the one with the problem thinking.

Looking back, did you have any misplaced thoughts about alcohol and your drinking in particular?

I always had the same mindset. Why just have one? I would rather not have any if I wasn't going to be able to get drunk!

Same here....it felt like a waste of alcohol if I wasn't getting drunk. I see people on here saying the just want to have on or two when the get their drinking under control. It baffles me lol.
