Almost through 1st day sober....
Well, i'm pretty close to making it through day 1 of being sober. The desire to drink is not that strong at this moment due to the fact that I over did it last night. I have plenty of movies to watch as I "attempt" to sleep and sweat like crazy..
But here's the thing. I am getting some extreme anxiety looking at the clock. It's 9pm here and I keep saying in my head "2 hours left until the liquor stores close" over and over again. I keep on thinking what if I really NEED it in the middle of the night? I'm debating about just buying some "just in case". It would put my mind at ease!! But it's probably a silly idea correct?

Hi There,
The answer to that last question depends on whether you want to continue drinking or if you want to be sober.
You're going to have to tough out the cravings sooner or later if you want sobriety. If you feel that you are going to go into severe withdrawals you should go to a detox. However, if it's just cravings that you're concerned about then YOU CAN DO THIS.

That was your AV (alcoholic voice) trying to convince you that you need alcohol.
It will worm it's way into your head with these thoughts, because your AV doesn't want you to be well, ALIVE and sober...it wants you to keep on struggling by feeding it booze.
Well done on not feeding this beast.
Hope you can get a bit of sleep...good sleep will come.
