Talking Going for Walk

It doesn't sound like much, but my alcohol induced Ataxia made that nearly impossible. Today will be the third such walk in less than a week. I find myself thinking about it at work and really looking forward to it. My long range goal is to ride a bike again!

I gave away most of my expensive hi heel shoes because I could no longer walk in them. But I kept a few pair (just in case). I am glad I did. Today I wore a pair of platform shoes that graduated from 1" in the front to 4" in the back!!!! Say what??? I never ever thought that day would come. And to you guys out there. Don't be a Cad. You have no idea the balance that requires. It wasn't about the shoes, it was about something I gave up for the bottle and I have taken it back.

That is all

That's really awesome, Hawker! As a high-heel loving gal myself, I totally get you. It's just great to get back the things we lost to drinking.

Best,

June

I've found it's not how far I walk or how long I work out. It's doing it on a regular basis. All the muscles wake up and say "hey, we have a job to do". The brain gets in on the act saying "I'm in charge here". The body can bounce back. Getting out and moving helps.

It's wonderful that you're walking and the fact that you look forward to it means you'll meet your goal of riding a bike. One step at at time. You're an inspiration!

Walking got me through early sobriety ...and it still clears my head like nothing else can
