What things are you doing to recover?
Im only on day 10 and Im not being to hard on myself to get perfect about everything.
Im drinking a lot of green tea.
I take B vitamins, magnesium and potassium.
I havent missed doses of my BP meds!
Been juicing a little bit.
I need to work on losing weight, Im hoping it will be easier without drinking.
Im not forcing myself into that right now though, Im getting thru not drinking for now.
I need to start walking daily.

Filling the spiritual void in my life that I used to fill with alcohol.
Learning to cope with the things in life that used to have me running to booze.

I just bought a SodaStream. Love it. It replaced the wine areator (like I really cared how it tasted).
Reading every bit of info I can. In every available moment showing up here also.
Walking the dog. Lots and lots. Especially during the scary hours of 4:00 and 7:00 pm.
Not cooking. Too much of a trigger right now. Drinking while cooking was my thing.
Earthing - standing barefoot on the grass for 10 minutes a day. Woo woo but it makes me happy.
Meditating. Often.
Snacking frequently so blood sugar doesn't get wonky.
Lemon water. Lots and lots to clean my deader. I mean my liver.
Prayer. Gratitude. Deep breathing.

Waking up every day knowing I didn't do anything ridiculous or hurtful the night before. Taking a few minutes every day to count all the great things I did instead of making bad choices. Just knowing I'm bettering myself is enough to get through day by day.
Meditation. No guru required. Started doing it in a hospital setting. I think if I hadn't started the practice I would have lost my mind. Also exercise has been a huge help because, for me, it promotes natural happy brain chemicals.
I try to keep busy with projects, some are short-term (like cleaning gutters) and some are long-term (jogging, weight training, and now a rigid diet). Unpleasant short-term tasks and pretty much all long-term tasks were kind of out of my reach as a drunk, which caused me a lot of internal conflict (because I knew I should do those things but they weren't getting done due to the drink) in the value system. Now the obstacle is gone, so I'm trying to (oh-h-h this is going to sound cheesy, be warned) become the man I should have been from the beginning.
Oh and I don't drink--that helps a lot

I'm active in AA, able now to start giving back what's been given to me. I eat healthy, exercise, read & am increasing my spiritual awareness by taking meditation classes & doing it at home. Also finding more and more ways to have sober fun

you will continue to feel better. congrats on starting a solid foundation and caring for yourself. it takes time to balance your body but do the right thing every day and it will come slowly nd surely. how old are you?
