Has anyone seen the movie Smashed?

I watched it last night with my wife. It was hard to watch at times, because the drunk scenes were all too real. But, in a way it was good therapy to see it, and be thankful for 107 days sober.

I've seen it. And yes, I thought some parts were very painful. But actually, every movie I see about alcoholism strikes some nerve or another. 'Smashed' hit more than a few nerves for me because I'm a teacher as well.

I have seen and thought it was good, but for me it was almost an excuse to drink because I'm not "that bad". I am also a teacher but have never drank before or during work and never had that bad of hangover at work. Also, I mostly drink alone and dont' do the kinds of crazy things she did. So, I can keep on drinking, right??

I have to remind myself that we all respond to alcohol differently and it affects our lives differently. Once I start I can't stop, it makes me feel and look terrible and not be the person, mother, daughter, or friend that I know that I can be...therefore, I am an alcoholic just like she was and that's all that matters. Movies like that can be dangerous for me.
