small victory for me feeling pleased with myself
Today I've just come home from dinner with the family at the pub.
The victory was I drank water while everyone else was drinking alcohol.
In Australia it's Saturday night here and I saw the people in the public bar drinking. I didn't drink.
It's my first full week of real sobriety and the weekend has always been my weakness I wasn't planning on dinner at the pub but we were running late and its r the only place to eat. Once dinner was done I was out though.
It proves to me life doesn't end in sobriety and no one cares if you are not drinking and the biggest thing of all I don't have to drink today.

The thought that life ends in sobriety or that there is no fun to be had unless your drinking is such a myth. So many more doors have opened in my life since i got sober 9 months ago.

Newpower congratulations on passing this test; it gives you more confidence for the next time. Weekends and Friday nights can cause temptations but it helps a lot if you're ready for it.
