Sober weekend

I am only 6 days sober after AGAIN falling off the wagon. I am anxious about staying sober this weekend, but determined to do so. I have joined a new gym and have deliberately taken an appointment for training at 0900 on Sunday morning knowing that I will have to stay sober on saturday night. This might sound desperate but I really want to get into a new routine and feel that this is the only way I can do so without alcohol ruining my efforts. I just hope I have the strength to follow this through. . .

Hi Susan

What do you usually do Saturday night? Have you an enjoyable alternative planned?

God bless +

Michael

Thanks for the reminder Dee!!! I ahd totally forgotten about that. :-D I plan to meet my friend for shopping and then go for a nice spicy curry. I never feel like having alcohol with indian food as it is so rich. Sunday I ahve planned to work out and then go to the cinema with another friend. I am feeling very positive at the moment but know i will have to start planning weekends ahead or it will be too easy to get caught up in the pub cycle.

"I just hope I have the strength to follow this through. . ."

Correction: you do have it absolutely. The only thing that can hold you back is forgetting it.
