Made it one day
Wash- congrats on day one! I really think this is the hardest day and you've got it under your belt! Move on to day two...Take one day at a time. We are all your friends here! Post often. We are here for you!
You can meet new friends once you kick your habit, get control of your life, and have the confidence you get from sobriety, to step out and meet new people. Its worth it. Congrats on day 1

I am new here too
Alcohol in my experience, manipulates the mind and thinking. I am only on day 5 and still feel foggy minded. I KNOW the thinking will get more clear, the anxiety will lessen and the future look bright.
Today I am starting a sort of rehab group therapy. I also plan to start going to recovery meetings. But for now, I know what I need to do when I get cravings. Right now I am reading here, rolling the tape when the cravings kick in (kinda like take the imaginary drink, feel the buzz, imagine the sickness in the morning, the ER trip after the binge....you get the picture)
It's been five days of wash, rinse and repeat.
You can do it
