New here
Been lurking for about 5 weeks and wanting to join but hesitant. I am not a public forum type of person. I am only 39 days in and unbelievably had the one of most horrible things of my life happen to me this week. I have children and as my husband has his own business I have been the steady support and insurance provider in a professional job for almost 20 years. Lost my job this week 
(didn't have to do with drinking). I know drinking will make things worse but I want this intense worry and pain to go away. I truly don't know how we will survive this and am sick over it.

Welcome! You sure have a lot on your plate right now. 
I hope you can come to a workable solution for your family. Please don't let this lead you back to drinking, that will only make things worse.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through with your job. After 20 yrs. that is very traumatic. You are right, though - drinking never makes anything better - ever. A small amount of temporary relief, and then reality comes back and we are disgusted with ourselves. Congratulations on your 39 days. I'm glad you have a clear head to deal with this, and I'm very happy you found us.
