Question about court-mandated rehab and insurance
The rehab that me and my parents are considering doesn't take my insurance, I guess you have to be on medicade to go there, and I guess im apparently not qualified for medicade..
Now my question is, If I get officially court-mandated to go to this place, would I be then eligible for medicade? Would my insurance I have now have to cover it by law if I was court mandated? Or would the court-mandation not make a difference at all? .. Answers are really appreciated.
Thanks.

the courts look at most all rehabs about the same
I think that your insurance holds all of the cards here
it would be hard for the courts to force them to do anything
if your insurance has some rehab places available to you
best bet is (and very commonly accepted by the courts)
to ask the courts to sentence you to one of your approved rehabs
this all needs to be approved by your lawyer and the DA
before you are sentenced
proxy 75% or more of the time the judge will go along with the DA's suggestion
they do this all the time
the courts look at most all rehabs about the same
but
when the courts had jail time in mind for me
all of my good thoughts about
going into a rehab instead of going to jail
when out the door when I was sentenced

The court cannot make your insurance company cover the stay at a treatment center that is not in their network.
I think the reason they have a certain place in mind is that most people that are court ordered to go have no insurance so Medicaid will pay for them to go to that facility.
If you have private insurance coverage then you need to let them know that and what place it covered. You can find that out from contacting your insurance company. Then the court papers can list that specfic facility or the papers may state it as loose as "any treatment facility that falls in the insurance coverage area" or something to that effect.
I'd echo what everyone else said - call your insurance company. Sometimes even if it says that they aren't approved or covered, they may be able to make an exception. Or they may have other options for you.
