Daily pickup from chemist

Seeing as I am on these pain meds (back to endone of today and still have some tramadol.). Do you think it would be a good idea if the local chemist (which doesn't do most prescriptions) would hold them for me to pick up daily? I was on 2-3 day pickup with the Valium at the end but from a further chemist.

Do you think this would be better than having my husband hold them?

Thanks, just running it by SR.

MLC,

What is your daily dosage?

Does your husband give you one dose at a time?

The chemist will be handing you your full daily dose.

I'm not trying to imply anything, but my addict mind would be thinking I could stay in pain all day and then take the entire days worth all at one time.

But on second thought you could do the same thing with your husband giving them to you, so never mind.

I would say whichever way you feel will work best. Are you uncomfortable with the whole bottle of pills being in the house?

Yeah I know what you're saying, I've thought of that too of course. Hubby has to leave more than one dose with me as he works all day.

Don't worry about implying anything lol. It's why I post here, we are all addicts

I don't mind having it in the house it's just that when I was doing it with the Valium I would find it or I would beg for more. I don't think it's fair.

It didn't seem to work out well with your husband dispensing it--you always managed to ferret out the motherlode. The chemist idea seems good, because it involves a bit of inconvenience to make the trip out to get it (although when we have the user's mindset, we've brave, wind, snow, sleet or hail to get that supply!). I guess the difference now is in your heart and in your head. I'm so glad you're doing well! I've prayed a lot for you, even though I've been absent.

Thanks gilmer for the prayers. Nice to see you back.

I couldn't do it when I thought I had to go to the chemist in the next town but I'm thinking I can just get the little chemist in town to hold them for me. It's worth an ask. It's on the next street so no inconvenience. I've kinda stuffed up today after going so well

If you want to try it why not. There does not seem to be too much of a downside

I know you're in pain but what have you done about looking into other ways to manage this pain - like acupuncture - or looked into other options for meds? Other Drs

I'm not giving you medical advice - it's just if I'd been through what you've been through, the very last thing I would want to do is fall into the same kind of situation with a different drug.

I don't really think the burning question here is should you get the chemist to hold your meds or not.

You may find this harsh...but if you've already stuffed up...you really need to focus and look, and look hard, at where you're heading now.
