Resilience--Optimism

I read this recently, and found it inspiring, so I thought I'd share.
I was reading about dealing with lifelong chronic pain, but I think the relevance here needs no explanation:

The poet Jane Hirshfield described the concept of resilience in the most eloquent and poignant way of all, in her poem entitled “Optimism”:

More and more I have come to admire resilience.
Not the simple resistance of a pillow, whose foam
returns over and over to the same shape, but the sinuous
tenacity of a tree: finding the light newly blocked on one side,
it turns in another....

Wow, this is a keeper. Thank you for inspiring me as I begin my day.

May we all find our light today, it may be blocked by it remains constant if we bend toward it.

Hugs
