I'm at a medical appointment right now. When I was filling out the paperwork I came to that dreaded question about how much alcohol I drink. In the past I always lied and felt terribly ashamed. Today I was able to put 0 and it felt incredibly freeing and wonderful!
I don't want to discount your current sobriety, and yes, you aren't drinking today. But for medical purposes, you might tell your doctor of your drinking history, so they can look at the possible harm that your previous drinking might have caused.
Again, this isn't to dismiss your recovery. But to say Zero on a medical form, a doctor may think you've had years and years without a drink opposed to a week.
But great that you can say, I don't drink today.
