Putting on 3 races this weekend. Fortunately all at the same place, so the only thing that has to be tore down and set back up is all the sound equipment.

Yes I finally look forward to my weekends for all the right reasons Pedro.

But this took a while. I had to plan activities to keep me busy and out of the house in early sobriety

Now I look forward to resting , spending time with my kids and doing the housework.

Early nights (when I can drag myself off SR chat) and waking up feeling refereshed is great.

Good Luck keep in touch.

Go the BLUES !!!!!

Thanks, Pedro!

Ready to get this Weekend Going!

I started the work week with 2 sick days, but it still seemed L-o-o-o-ongggg. TGIF.

We're getting Tropical Stormed on today, although it's just supposed to be very rainy (not too windy here). Hopefully tomorrow will be sunny. Or at least non-rainy. I need to haul some high quality lumber to trim a recently remodeled room in my house, and I can't do it in the rain. It'll warp and/or stain.

If it's raining....hmmmm....I guess I'll do some more work tricking out my shop. I have materials for that here already. It's just a back burner issue.

Mrs Non and I are going to try attending church again on Sunday. Haven't been for a while, but I want to start going again for a variety of reasons - mostly related to maintaining my sobriety.

I'm also going to take a look at a Life Ring workbook the SR Member fini recommended.

And, of course - Let there be bacon!

Have my uncles 60th party that's the Irish side soooooooo my plans are to watch everyone drink themselves silly and remind me why I no linger drink. I am already one of the designated driver to shuttle the inebriated back and forth as there are alot if people traveling in for this party. I KNOW I'm not going to drink and couldn't be happier. Already planning my rebuttals from the endless questions of why in not partaking. I'm actually excited for the first time to say, " yeah I'm just not into it anymore think I've out grown those days ....... And yes I'm 30 years younger then most if you"

Have a wonderful weekend all

Sounds good Pedro. I am keeping this weekend low key. Just planning to have a mommy/daughter date tonight. After work I am picking my princess up and we are heading to the mall so I can get some cleaning wipes at the Verizon store for my phone, then likely spend the next hour explaining to my 6 year old WHY she is too young for an IPhone. Then I am sure that battle will work up an appetite so we will be going for dinner then dessert at the Frozen Yogurt shop:-)

Rest of the weekend will be pretty laid back, and looking forward to it!

if it's not raining I have to tackle the weeds in the garden. They now outnumber the other plants!

Maybe a nice long hike Sunday.

If it keeps raining then I suppose I will slog away at the basement. We want to finish it so we have a little more room but right now it is wall to wall junk. Husband is a bit of a hoarder so I we have to "discuss" everything that goes in the garbage which makes the whole process a bit annoying.

Good luck with that!

My father-in-law is a hoarder. We were emptying his basement a few years ago and the next day we found he had moved about half of the stuff from the curb back to the basement at night after we left.

I am hoping to slow things down a notch this weekend. My son is home sick from school today so I'm hoping to get out of work early to be with him. Actually looking forward to a whole lot of nothing big planned.

I just heard a rumor from a normally reliable source that the Big Boss is closing up shop at 1200 today because some lower areas around town are flooding.

Time to get my sober weekend started a little early.
A round of bacon for all my friends!!!

Home early because of a Tropical Storm that has thus far failed to materialize.

Oh, well - more free time! C'mon, Sober Peeps, let's get this WEEKEND THREAD rolling.
