Day 6 check in

Day 6 without having a drink or a cigarette. Bought a bag of books for two dollars, mostly poetry. Maybe reading it will help me in my sober life. I feel better able to concentrate today.

Hello Acheleus. And I'm on Day 2..no drinking or cigarettes. A bag of books for 2 bucks is an awesome find...and poetry to boot. Here's hoping you find some satiating food for thought. Please share if you do.

Acheleus, yes by all means share your sobriety with all of us here, it only helps us all to do so. Tomorrow, I'll be 1 year no cigarettes, and on the 10th, 2 years 11 months, no booze/drugs. Honestly though, it has only solved those problems areas in my life, and I am so grateful to still have a life. I'm confident I'll have a good life if I don't ever use again, and thats the plan. Rootin for ya.

Well I am at a hotel with a lounge attached to it. I drove to a restaurant and now going to bed on my sixth day of sobriety. I was tempted to go in the lounge but I thought through the drink. I have gained some weight but I hope to exercise a lot more as my lungs clear out. Goodnight everyone.

It's great to see you back on here posting, Acheleus!

Good job thinking that drink through. That helps me a lot recently. After a while, you start to forget how awful drinking made you feel, and you have to remind yourself.

Really nothing good ever does come from drinking.....that's my opinion lately, anyway.

Good luck! Enjoy the books, and keep us posted!

Peace,
~Heartfan
