Day 3

Yesterday sucked. Felt like I was in a haze all day, so bloated, exhausted and having anxiety attacks. Woke up today feeling agitated.... but then went to the gym for the first time in a long time. Its amazing what some good music and exercise induced endorphins does for ones self! Much better mood, and the fog has lifted. Going to keep on trucking, need to keep in mind that sobriety is the most important goal in my life right now.

Hi, day 2 for me here. I am thinking of joining the gym too. Start the blood flowing and lose some of the weight I've piled on with all the sugary beer.
Good luck to you.

Any sort of exercise helps; as you mentioned it's the endorphins. Personally I take these really long walks and, besides the health benefits there are emotional benefits which are less known about. Congratulations on staying strong and focussed, before you know it day 3 will be day 30

Oh this brings back memories. Trust me, what you are feeling is normal!!! and I promise you it will pass as the days go by. Working out is SOOOO important in recovery. I dont think enough recovering addicts do it and they really miss out on the benefits of it. Congrats on day 3, stick with it and way to go on being proactive and seeking other outlets besides using.

WAY TO GO!!! Day 2 for me and I am about to walk my daughter to school and jog back. I am actually looking forward to it instead of dreading it. Exercise is a great way to keep busy, improve your health and kick up those good feelings inside.

Good job Zoey!! I am new here and I already know how good those "exercise induced endorphins" are but it always helps to hear testimonials. It is hard to muster the energy to exercise when we feel so awful. Good work and you are an inspiration!!
