Didn't drink Friday night

Boy, I wanted to. Thought about it a lot, but I used some tips you guys gave me (riding the urge wave was a good one, thanks Dee!)

I might drink tomorrow, but I didn't today. Five days. I feel like I'm white knuckling it a bit ... But I'm giving it what I can.

That is awesome. The weekends are so hard. Getting by each day is an immense accomplishment. Here's hoping to make it through Saturday!

That's awesome penny! Each day we stay sober is a gift what has helped me is knowing that there is nothing that a drink will make better. 5 days is wonderful!

Good job with a sober Friday. Keep you mind off booze and stay occupied. I need to follow my own advice lol.

Join us on the weekend thread, or just read....it is so worth it to wake up sober, soon you will be at a week!
I agree, be nice to yourself maybe a pedicure? Give yourself a facial, notice little things.

Thanks, guys. I needed some pats on the back. I haven't told anyone in the "real world" yet what I'm up to. I'm just not there yet.

Congratulations on getting through

At the begining i found showers incredibly good for me , they helped me get outside my thinking and just experience and enjoy the feel of the water and getting clean . I did that anytime the stuggle was getting difficult , i was very clean back then LoL

Nice clean sheets on the bed also made me feel snuggly so going to bed early didn't seem that bad .

I used to mostly drink in the evenings , so early bedtimes seemed to help as i was "safe" once i got into bed .. sometimes as early as 6 PM

Bestwishes, M

2 weeks today.

I have the odd craving here and there, but for the most part it hasn't been bad. I do have a question? I have had 3 beer in the trunk of my car that have been acting as a comfort for me knowing that they are there. I tried to give them to a friend last night, but a little anxiety took over and couldn't do it. Do you think I should get rid of them? I have been under alot of stress in these last two weeks and if I were to drink them I prob would have done so by now.

Good Job!

In the beginning the w/e's and especially friday's, can be tough. Consider that a victory for DETERMINATION!

Keep it up and soon friday's won't have the same draw to alcohol that they once did.

Congratulations!
