Miserable how?

Were you less miserable when you were drinking?

I give a shiit. In fact, I give two shiits.

Drinking is stupid.

What do you think might make you unmiserable?

Two days behind 'ya! Congrats! Vent away and get some catharsis.. Would a punching bag help? I say one at Walmart Today and almost bought it... Those feelings repressed by booze do have a way of flaring up... Just takes some time to adjust I think. I vacillate between feeling good, feeling like a zombie, and feeling edgy/volatile. Getting better though... You?

I give a whole lot of shiitake.

What's changed? You seemed really happy the beginning of the month. Riding your bike and sharing with us the scenery.

What changed?

What were the reasons you stopped drinking and what are you doing for your "sobriety"?

I didn't stop drinking because I was having a really good life or flying on the wings of victory. I was effin miserable. It sucked. Waking up in the middle of the night covered in sweat, anxiety and self loathing so strong it was palpable.

Thanks Trik.
I'm not going to drink... I have a really strong will and I'm committed to this.
I think I may need to see a doc...maybe I have depression or something.

Well, first of all, l care.

When I quit drinking the first time (13 years) I had all kinds of moods. Days of being so tired I could barely stay awake. Feeling like I wanted to scream bloody @ss murder.

Yeah, when we stop numbing ourselves we start to feel all kinds of things. A lot of those things are awesome and some..not so good.

When I was drinking the only feelings I had were dark, scared, alone, anxiety, fear.

Are you seeking counseling or attending a program or using a method to help you with these feelings?

Thanks Received,
I have only used this site for support, nothing else.
And that is what's bothering me the most is this feeling of exhaustion I've been experiencing. I am a walking zombie.

I think seeing your doctor is a great idea. Be honest about everything. My doctor is phenomenal. No judging. I also see a therapist and used AVRT to stop drinking for good.

Of course SR is fantastic but sometimes we need more. This your life, your journey. You are worth living a life free of addiction.

Rational Recovery/AVRT. You can google it as we are not allowed to provide a link to the site. They also have a crash course which only takes a few minutes to complete.

Also, you can learn more about it in our Secular Connection Forum.

I'll bump a couple threads for you.

HI, Gmanriley.

First, congrats on 40 days of sobriety! It's really great s****!

But it's still early sobriety, and emotions are still roller coaster. At that stage my mood used to change like spring weather.

I believe it won't hurt to see a Doc.

Take it easy on yourself. It shall pass.

Take care.
