Got my red coin (sort of)...
Well today I hit 1 month!! I feel so empowered now, it's amazing. I am contemplating the changes for me this past 30 days:
I have enjoyed 30 good nights sleep (after struggling with insomnia for years).
For the last 30 mornings, I have been able to kiss my husband on the lips before leaving for work instead of turning my cheek to him so he wouldn't smell the booze on my breath from sneaking my morning drink (although he likely smelled it anyway).
I have been able to enjoy going for walks outside with my daughter instead of hiding inside with my precious glass of hootch
I have lost almost 10 pounds
I have volunteered at my daughters school for the first time (and loved it)!
I have not spent time staring into the mirror to see if I am showing any signs of yellowing eyes (my drinking started to make me worry extensively about my health)
I have started having coffee with my mom in the morning like I used to (I had stopped because I was afraid she would smell the booze)
And most importantly....I have begun to REALLY live my life, and not just coast through it in a foggy haze.
Thank you all for being here with me, it is so important to have this daily support as I work to learn and embrace this new sober lifestyle!
