what activity/hobbies do you do now that you never thought you would be doing whilst you was drinking???

Hmm. I think I just do all my hobbies without wine now)) And that's great.

I also started to write poems to fight insomnia. Now it's my hobby- helps me to sort out my thoughts.

I've gotten interested in fountain pens (buying with the money I saved from drinking), which has lead to a lot of writing: keeping a journal and letter writing. Lots of letters, which has gotten me reconnected to friends and family.

But my number one activity is my recovery. Or else I'll slip back to my "old" number one activity....drinking.

I'm spending time crocheting and looking forward to doing more of that, as well as cooking and crafts. I'm excited to be able to do yoga and go running more often (hard to do with a hangover) and may join a hiking group here. And reading, and I have some CBT workbooks on the way that I will be working on the exercises.

I have started getting more into Comic Books. It is fun to read them and collect them. I am also a movie fan, and being sober I can remember the movies I watch. But, my new hobby needs to be exercise.

I have taken up playing guitar again which I did many years ago. Other than that, just doing the same things but actually DOING them. Before they were all just things to occupy me in between beers!
