good for not weakening - just don't do what I did and think you're 'immune' now

IMO, I think bars liquor stores and all such places are best off limits in early recovery.

Thanks all .. Nahh I don't think I am immune; I just knew my situation and buying beers w\ her would not have been a good thing anyway :p lol

Great job getting through that! Just remember, that just because this time you didn't have any cravings doesn't mean you can keep going there and not be affected.

I'm sure it is a great confidence booster and a reminder that the only way alcohol can affect you is if you take that first drink!

I went into the liquor store to buy a bottle of wine for a dinner party. My wife has mobility issues otherwise I wouldn't have gone in. I struck me strange because I hadn't been in there for a while (2 months). I used to in all the time. I saw new types of Sam Adams which was always a fascination for me. I got the wine, and walked out. I realized that it's just a store. A store that sells nicotine, alcohol, sugar, caffeine, and lottery tickets. It's the addiction store. I was thinking that as I walked out .... my wife couldn't figure out the goofy grin on my face.

Yea; Jerry was the best .. As I said in an earlier post I haven't cried for years; and 95 his death was the last time I cried .. Thanx MB .. As I said I am determined and resolved to never pick up that first one
