learning and understanding
Each day, keeping addiction under control, I have found, is Learning and understanding why, within myself. Thinking a craving through, while it is happening.. Why do I feel the need to Drink right now? What good could come of it. Is it the time of day? Is it where I am, or what I am doing? I have found, changing a routine, taking a different route, for example, the time of day I get up, or go to sleep. Simple enough, but a big change, which gives a whole different outlook on a new day. I have been learning new things about myself, and my habits, confronted them, and am in a constant mode of slow change. Everyone is different, in how a problem is handled. Being honest with myself, has been the unruly test of time. In taking each day, with an open mind, in turn come the understanding, that I can change. Learning that it is ok, to be different than everyone else, and understanding, that it is only myself, that see this change through. While others will ask why, The only person who needs to know that answer is me. I have learned, it is, for sure, one new day at a time, but just recently understood the true meaning of that statement for me. Be active, be honest, and be productive in each challenge that comes along. Rewards come in all forms. especially when you can see the good in every situation presented.

great post...so true too...one day at a time..i to have changed my routine..going to bed earlier instead of staying up to the wee hours drinking and being sad. It has helped..setting goals for tomorrow and looking forward to morning coffee and no hangover or headache..and a heart full of gratitude and counting my blessings for what I have in this life. Not going to let alcohol rob me of anymore precious years or time I have on this earth! Take care
