Day #3
Today is Day #3 of sobriety and I am feeling more motivated than I have in the past! Today will be a challenge, as I've found the motivation usually dies out and the cravings get strong when I know I've gone 2 consecutive days without drinking. Today is going to be especially long. I work 8:30-5, and then I stay at work for another couple hours to help my manager clean the office (extra $$!). Usually I'd convince myself that I've earned that one glass of wine after a day like that, so I'll buy the bottle and of course, down the entire bottle in less than 2 hours instead of stopping at the one glass like I planned. And btw, my ONE wine glass is more equivalent to 1/2 the bottle! That will not happen today- instead I will spend that time sharing my success of 3 days without alcohol on SR. I am so happy I found this forum!!! Hope everyone has a great day!

Yes, it is! I'm changing my thinking from " you deserve a glass of wine" to "you deserve a peaceful, sober night's sleep. And to wake up tomorrow feeling clear-headed and free of guilt and anxiety over drinking!"

Yikes, I'm on my way home and the temptation to stop at the store on the way home is screaming at me! I suspected this would happen. I can almost taste the wine. Not gonna do it, but wow! This is hard.
Good for you!!! Day 3 is my "cave day" usually. It's my day 3 today, too, and I've made it through. I did make my husband block me in the driveway as an extra precaution, but at this point I'm thinking it may not have been necessary.
