Another Weekend Over

Well another weekend of Sobriety has past. I kept busy as usual and i find my life is becoming more normal without a beer in my hand. I definitely have less cravings and also seem to able to manage the anxiety and depression better. I had convinced myself that it was normal to relax and have a drink at any time over the weekends and during the week for that matter. It wasn't normal at all. I was drinking myself to misery and eventual death.
Day 43 today and i roughly calculate that i am some 500 to 600 beers better off. That is just ridiculous when i look back. Anyway no more looking back for this recovering alcoholic. On-wards to a better future and more enriched life. Have a great day everyone

It's funny now...I actually look forward to Sumday night now...when I can sigh and say I put another weekend in the books without drinking. Course I just coming up on 3 weeks, so I'm sure after a while I will start dreading Sundays again like a normal person;-)

Glad you had a good weekend Pedro.

Each weekend definitely gets easier. Its just those weekends where you have a catch up with friends or a function to attend that are daunting for me but i guess that will get easier with time also Everyone dreads Sunday nights as work is the next day. lol. Well done on your 3 weeks

Pedro well done on your time. It does get better, and it is worth the price.

Iniiatlly I dreaded the idea of never drinking again. Now I think the social challenges are a small price to pay for the freedom I have and the enjoyment that I have in my life.

I totally get you.
Sometimes I cannot believe how many nights - weekend and weeks - I wasted sat drinking doing nothing.

Now it would seem abnormal to be drinking. My normal is not drinking.

Keep going it gets better!

My best to you
