Watching someone you love kill themself slowly is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. You go through all of the things that they can and should be doing to start a recovery process but know that you can't even lead them to water if they don't acknowledge that they are depriving themselves of it.

I agree. It is sad. What helps me the most is Al-Anon meetings and these forums. There is something healing and hopeful in that.

Keep coming back. Not every day feels like today!
