first night
I feel for ya; I am officially at 48 hours; so I know how hard that first night is .. Welcome as was said to me Read; take in lots of water some food .. I have read Vitamin B Helps some; not sure about that cause I take it daily for other reasons and never seems to help me :p
Take a shower, take a walk, call a friend, read and post here, go to be early, and a million other things. Don't give up. This day will pass and in the morning you'll wake up without a hangover. Keep posting!
I am at two weeks now, and I found going to bed early and reading these posts helped. Especially the first night...when I woke up the next morning and had a whole day of sobriety under my belt...I felt motivated. Like...hey I just might be able to do this!!!
Best of luck!
Best of luck!
Welcome Nicky! It's great to have you here with us.
I felt all alone until I found SR. I never thought there'd be anyone who felt the way I did. None of my friends or family understood. I found the courage to quit after reading the hopeful & supportive posts here. Congratulations on making this decision - and on your first sober day. You can do this, Nicky.

You have made a great decision and you will not regret it.
For me, I used to sit for hours on the sofa, the same to, with the same glass, in front of mindless television.
For me I think what was key was that I changed all I had done before.
I got off the sofa, smashed my favourite glass, got busy.
I can remember waking up with so much pride in the morning, thinking 'I did it'.
It's a lovely feeling to start the day with.
You can do this

Congrats Nicky
Keep toughing it out and before you know it you'll be buzzing with new sober energy! And if you feel the need to drink again... remember you'll have to do that day 1 misery all over again
