Week 6!
I can't believe it's been 6 weeks since I've had a drink! I don't even have cravings for it anymore. Just every now and then, there is that voice that tries to remind me how fun it would be, and keeps whispering that no one will know if I'm really careful!
I'LL KNOW!! I'm not listening to you! Go away! That's what I tell the voice. You can't control me. It was fun at one point, but so were a lot of other things that I'll never do again. It was fun when I was a kid climbing trees, and riding my bike around my neighborhood. That part of my life is over and it's not going to happen again either, but it was fun.
Then I realize I'm arguing with myself. How silly.
So here I am. 6 weeks sober. I went to my doctor yesterday and got a full physical. I told him I wanted everything checked. I told him that I was a heavy drinker for many years and I want him to check for any damage that may have caused. I get my results May 4th.
Good Luck everyone.

Congrats on 6 wks!
I think we will battle those thoughts for years if what I have heard right in AA & in treatment. The good thing is you are aware of these thoughts & you "Have a Plan" to combat them.
Keep On, Keeping On!
