Feeling Emotions Again

It's happening to me earlier this time (day 5) but that might be because I've been on and off for several months now. This afternoon I laughed - laughed!!! Then a few minutes ago I felt a pang of sadness. I always feel but am somewhat numbed to it or keep such a tight control that I am really unreadable to others, probably seem like a very cold person. I never cry, well yes when I'm angry I cry. Who knows I might soon be laughing and crying like a normal person.

I was on prozac once and I came off after about 2 weeks because I kept bursting into tears.

I've always laughed but it took really weird things to make me laugh, but earlier today I laughed at something quite simple. It was simply amazing.

It's like a block of ice that is slowly melting. You've been numbing your emotions for a long time, but they're coming out of the deep freeze. It does feel amazing when you realize you're experiencing a genuine feeling with the appropriate response. Glad it's happening early on for you

You know what's even better? When you feel sad, don't drink to numb it... and then the sadness passes.

I love laughing and how innocent and spontaneous it is now

Yes, if it does pass without drowning it with alcohol...that's the way to beat it. Congrats on the sober time.
