Crack pipes of the past

I am sitting at the airport waiting to travel to a new city half way across the country. I have high hopes that I will like this new place ... And that it will soon become part of my future.

I passed on my way home from work today a little store I pass every day. I used to go get my glass tube there. I started with buying one. Then over time I got two. Then I used to have to go drive high and get another after my dealer left for the third time in one night.

The dichotomy between these two thoughts is astounding.

Thankfulness is all I can think of saying. It was not easy but I am hear because I finally said no... Granted I had to say it over and over but it finally stuck.

If I let it I have a lot in front f me. A path to forge alone but with as much strength as I can muster.

I will check in this weekend from my destination. My excitement level is high. My nerves are calm. My mind is sober. Huh... Go figure?

Hey Weasel, hope all goes well. You made me think Weasel, I think I'm gonna write a song, "My Crack Pipe Don't Love Me No Mo!"

oh the sounds those little glass pipes make when you toss them out the car window into the street after a night of nonsense saying "Thats the last time!!!" and hearing it smash with a vengence. Heres to never having to do that again!
Enjoy your trip.

O.... I used to use mine until they cracked... Little by little the pipe got smaller until I was trying to puff on shards of glass. I agree... No more ever again.

I just upgrade to a wider mid class seat. I want to be comfy! Watch my movie and order my sparkling water. This is a vacation after all.

yeah ive done that too lol. yuck.

So many better things in life. I used to drive down the street and toss all my tools and paraphanelia the next morning. I will call this "the ride of shame" for the rest of my life.

I used to wrap what was left and any screens in tin foil and walk to the corner garbage can... Or went to the srore and dropped them in the trash.

I could not wait to get them out of the house. Just seeing them made me feel such shame.

Yup.. True story right there.

Or the actual walk of shame when you go into the store and you know all you have to say to the guy is one and one and they know what your talking about but none of the other customers do.. So cool to be descreet. ya right lol.

Wow... I cannot believe you said that! I did that. One set of screens and one stem.

Glad we are both sane again.

How exciting is that Ken? Nothing like a new adventure to give life a little boost. I hate packing, but I love moving-I love that feeling of "the possibilities are endless". I hope the new place is everything that you're hoping for. At the very least, you get to escape and have a mini vacation-have some fun!

Been there too. The store by my house sold em as little 'roses'. You got a mini fake rose in the glass stem.

I never really liked the stems though and mostly used pop cans and cigarette ashes.

So so happy I lived to find recovery and I never have to live that way again. I would not wish that lifestyle on anyone.

Enjoy your trip Ken! Hope its nice weather

Jstan31... Yes we are hear. I learned through SR that I am not alone and that feels good. Every detail described about crack resonates with me.

Fallow... Yes we call the roses to. That's the starter term. Lol then when they get to see this strung out pasty dude come in all I need to say is one and one or two and one. The rose had become pointless.

Up early with the time change.

Thanks for all the support. It means so much to me.

Ken
