Day 8 I think lol I walked 5 miles yesterday and 6 today. My goal is to loose 15 more. Lost 6 since I stopped drinking. Hope it continues. If I loose 15 more I won't be so depressed.

Never underestimate the power of a little vanity. My first 2 weeks I told myself I would do anything but not drink. If that meant duc taping my hands or super gluing my lips to the wall I would have. Some days I just thought of how my skin and hair would look better. I'd lose a few pounds. I'd have money for Botox whatever worked! Ever see those people on that show Intervention? The ones that get help and they follow up with them after 30 days? They look like they've been to a spa! Absolutely vanity doesnt work forever and doing it for the right reasons is best but it sure helped me in the beginning. I think your depression will lift for many reasons and the losing the weight is just one of many many good ones. Congratulations on day 8!

I am totally vain too, and hoping to lose about 15 pounds put on from drinking. I am on Day 6 and am finding the fact that I am actually showering and putting makeup on every day a huge step in the right direction! I have always taken great pride in my appearance but the drinking took that away. Awesome news for you, keep up the great work!!! PG

Thanks everyone. I really hope it continues. I set goals for my self. I have felt great for the last 3 . Tired from the walking but good. I had a scare this a.m. at 7 . I don't have shaky hand now. Well a tiny bit but not like they used to get when I needed a drink. 6lbs down 15 -20 to go
