Day 3 & First Post
Hi. This is my first post. I have been a daily drinker for quite a few years & have been wanting to stop the last few months. Read alot about alcohol withdrawal, but decided this past Sunday was going to be the start. So far the first 2 days went well. A little anxious at night but today I feel great. I feel good about my decision & more determined than ever. A little apprehensive about the coming weekend as my spouse still drinks, but I will deal with it the best I can.
Thank you for this forum. I have spent weeks here reading & learning.

Congratulations on your decision to quit, and on three days.
I was a daily drinker as well, and it is possible to quit.
I hope you make it through the weekend with your hubby drinking. It'll be a test, but you can do it. Just don't take that first drink.
Best to you.

Day 5 & still doing pretty good. Ran 5 miles after work yesterday & felt good. I seem to always get alcohol cravings after exercise but not bad yesterday. Was real tired by bedtime & thought I would sleep very well. Just the opposite, very restless night especially my legs. Got better as the night wore on. Stilll getting mentally prepared for the weekend.
Way to go on 5 days!! That is awesome.

It's where all of us who have quit in April get together to talk and it's a great place with others at about the same stage you are. It's where I've been 'hanging' here lately.
