Yesterday was one of those days when I could of possibly ended the day in a blackout and my whole life in a mess.

Simple, I had a day off, the wife was at work and my son was away for the weekend.

I had chores to do and I had to cut grass for the first time this season. Cutting grass is a big trigger for me. I love having beers while cutting grass. It would take me hours to cut the lawn while drinking beers. Yesterday it took me one hour and lots of green tea.

What I did was planned my day around my addiction. I planned that cutting grass would be the last thing I did before my wife got home. Normally I would get buzzed early and then try to sober up before she got home from work so she wouldnt know I was drinking.

Hey it worked for me yesterday....

I am learning that for me, I have to plan my life around my addiction not my addiction around my life.

Bravo! Its funny how we accomplish things so quickly while not drinking. What took me hours is now a 20 min situation, or it actually gets done instead of putting it off. I am happy for you. KEEP ON KEEPING ON!
