Drinking Like a Gentleman

This is Dee's term not mine. I know for sure I can never do it.

Haha, me neither! I'm actually quite a gentleman (if I do say so) when I'm sober. But all that goes right out the window when I'm drinking!

It's good to know that, for sure.

I have to remind myself because my drunk brain thinks I can. Dee is hard on me and I need that. This Friday I will not drink. Hopefully it's the first of many.

You can do it, terribob. I'm no lady when I drink, either. In fact, I become a completely different person. It was becoming dangerous. I don't miss it at all now - never thought I'd say that. You will be free - it's a great feeling.

Drinking like a gentleman - does that mean one uses a glass?

I rarely bothered with a glass toward the end, but the pinky was always extended. Standards are important.

I would drink like a lady, a glass of wine or two at most

Then, I'd go home and slam 211s like a skid row bum.

For me it's a reminder of where I was, where I am, and where I'd like to be.

A drunk, a barely recovering drunk, and a full blown recovering alcoholic.

I can't take credit for 'drinking like a gentleman' - it's an old expression...it's also in the AA Big Book

I never 'drank like a gentleman' tho - I always drank to get drunk.

hope I've been not too hard on you Bob

I certainly didn't drink like a lady! I just used a standard mug and got the booze down as fast as I could.

I ended up trawling shops for a glass that held a bottle of wine so to kid myself I only had one or two glasses!

Never did find that glass though...!

Does this include keg stands and beer funneling?

You're a monster! LOL

You're very direct Dee and a guy who listens to his drunk brain a lot needs that.

I see no purpose in drinking like a gentleman or lady.
