Starting over

Recovering Alcoholic and addict. Was sober over 10 years but swapped addictions with pain killers. Clean 59 days now.

Consequences of my actions

60 Days now. Still feel real tired from the withdrawls from opiates. My first week back at work. I used Lortab to function the next day while hungover. It took two to get me out the door to go to work and two to three minimum to get me through a twelve hour work day. Drinking more coffee than I used to. It is easier though not being hungover by not drinking beer and tequilla. I damaged my marriage before I got clean. Thought it could survive at first, but not looking good now. My sobriety comes first with no conditions. I must face the consequences of my actions. It has to be God's will. I pray for acceptance of God's will and the power to carry it out. Just because I am clean and sober does not mean the world stops. I am still working on steps 2 and 3. Step 1 is something I work on everyday. I hope my wife forgives me but that is up to her and God. I will work to stay clean and sober no matter what happens to my marriage.
