OT: Thoughts go out to Boston
OT: Thoughts go out to Boston
since we are a world wide nation here at SR I wanted to express my love, support and concern to all from the Boston area and the families and loved ones of all affected by this senseless act. Prayers of safety and healing going out. God Bless.
Amen Anvil. There is no stronger city then Boston. Patriots Day is honored with such pride. Having been near the finish line many times in my life to see the joy of those who finish, my heart is broken. My prayers goes out to all.

I live about 30 miles outside of Boston. Patriots Day is a holiday for us and it's typically the start of April vacation for our grade school students. It has been confirmed that one of the fatalities is an 8 year old, and there are over 100 serious injuries, including lost limbs.
I'm lucky in that I'm pretty sure everyone I know and care about was clear of Boston at the time this event happened, but not everyone is as lucky. So, pray for those lost, pray for those who have been badly injured, and pray for those that love them.
Boston will get through this, but we need your prayers and your love.

My heart hurts today............ Not sure what else to say. I've seen so much on FB today, but still all I can think of to do is look at the people who rushed to help. I think most of us are ingrated with good, but ughh, those few of them who put doubt in us all..............
My prayers go out to all the victims, those who died or were injured, and all who love them. It is such a sad day and the world weeps with Boston.

Rough scene. I don't know if any of you have gone down the internet wormhole and seen some of the more graphic photos - but it's horrible. That guy in the wheelchair in particular, golly I hope he pulls through. Some early stories about some unlikely heroes is at least brightening the mood. Just a tragedy.
Syria, UK, Boston, Newtown, Sudan, Iraq --- why do humans do such terrible things to each other? Hurts to watch. Gives some perspective. Here's hoping the human spirit rises above this tragedy...

Cambridge, Watertown, Newton, Waltham, and Belmont are shut down as well. The subways and all public transportation are closed, and there is a no-fly zone over Boston.
The remaining brother went to school at UMass Dartmouth, and as recently as Tuesday, he was at the gym on campus. Given how that was the day after the bombing, that should tell you something about his makeup.

I have family in those towns who were also at the finish line. Needless to say, they are pretty anxious right now.

Yeah, things are pretty tense over here, LMN. I have someone close to me in Cambridge. Crazy world we will in.

I hope the good people of Boston can now grieve their dead, tend their wounded and rest without fear. What an awful week they have had. I am glad they got the suspect, and not sorry the other is dead.
