Old thoughts.

After four consecutive A.A meetings (i.d.) a lot of thoughts of the sixties and seventies have been flooding back.
In those days my life revolved around liquor, lust, and football while living in a blame fortified sort of netherworld. All so crazy! The experience has been somewhat cathartic and the meetings are helping me.
Off to a Big Book meeting..................

Sounds a lot like my 60's & 70's Murch. Well, except for the football. Yes, indeed - a crazy netherworld. Glad the meetings are helping you!

Hi Hevyn.
Checked out Homeboy Industries and very impressed.
Do they run a steps program?
Got kind of attached to my tatoos though after 54 years. but taking one day at a time.

Hi. I used to act on my old thoughts and habits and had too many "oh I did it again" mornings. I kicked and resisted the important word CHANGE Until I let go of my insane thinking. Some years later it's great to feel comfortable in my own skin and not having the thought of drinking for years. BE WELL

Murch, I have a friend who works as a Case Manager there - they do have substance abuse counseling, not sure what it entails. It's partly gang intervention - teaching life skills, anger management - it serves as a family for those who have no one, or whose parents are drug addicts. The tats they remove are mainly the gang related ones - I'm sure yours are lovely and tasteful, Murch.

Old thoughts are just that, old, we don't have to re-live or act on them, they fade in tempo and power as we grow and heal
