Hello, I'm a 20 year old man struggling with an addiction to opiates and I could really use some advice. I have been trying to stop by myself for the past 2 years almost and I have had very little success. Come to think about it, I've had no success. If any one has any advice for me it would be more then welcomed. Thank you.

Please see a doctor for proper detoxing from those opiates.

Hi Lost, Welcome, I went into a detox, they made my withdrawals more comfortable. I have also quit cold turkey before and had a seizure.

I go to NA regularly. I have found great support. You will to, it may be something you want to check out. Lotsa young folks your age too.

Thank you sugar and deeker, I will contact my doctor tomorrow about what he thinks my best option is. Ive been hesitant to see my doctor about my problem but I agree it's time. And thank you deeker for the NA audio. I have been looking up local NA meetings and I am planning on checking a few out soon.
