beautiful saturday

last saturday i was sick all day shaking and nauseous. Today I got up at 545 and went and volunteered at a pet rescue. I am not home to take a quick nap before washing the car, fixing some appliance, and catching the local spring football game. Finishing the day up with my fav meeting in town and cooking a pasta dinner. Its amazing what a difference a week makes

It really is amazing! It sounds like a wonderful day you are having and in sobriety you will have many many more like it. I woke up early and hit the pavement with my bike. Haven't ridden since last year. Felt great So much better then a Saturday full of shame, fear of what I may have done the night before and regret. NOt to mention the awful anxiety hangover. Sobriety rocks

quit, love getting on the bike. I rode a lot a couple years ago but now just commute in to work a couple days a week (on my stretches of sobriety at least). Want to start getting back into it, thinking about starting to train for a triathlon!

It has been absolutely beautiful dee! The weather right now in Florida is the perfect blend of sun and cool temps. I have been working around the house being very productive, and checking in here occasionally. Now off to a meeting before heading to home depot and lowes to pick up supplies to make a desk!

I'm glad to hear the good news, ddrayer. There are so many wonderful things to fill our lives with - wish I'd realized that & not spent so much time in a fog. Proud of you!

Thanks for sharing. Saturdays are now one of my favorite days of the week....waking up early, filled with enthusiasm, instead of a hang over.

It's really wonderful how a pleasant Saturday can show such a change in attitude. I'm glad you had a great day, and kudos to you for helping out at a pet rescue.

3 hours at lowes and 1 at homedepot wasn't exactly what I had planned but for the most part stayed calm. Back home finishing laundry. Success

YAY! You are doing great, I am glad you are feeling better. Keep reminding yourself that you don't ever have to go through that hell again.

Can't remember if I read it here or heard it in a meeting. But really just trying to accept. Accept the fact that I simply cannot and will not ever be able to drink like others. I think that has kind of been my biggest problem. I have always thought that after "blank" days of being sober I could return to drinking normally and its finally getting through my thick skull, that just is not an option.
