it's been a while since I posted and getting started was hard; I had 12 days in a row, was going to meetings and doing well; then I lost my focus, on me and on just for today a week and a half ago; since then I haven't been able to put 2 days sober in a row together; I am hoping today will be my last day one; I need to get my focus back; any support would be greatly appreciated

What kind of support do you have in real life? Are you in AA or counseling? I found support thru counseling and this site. It helps to have real life support. I hope this can be your last day one.

thank you for responding; I am lucky to have a friend/co-worker who has been sober for 5 years and we have started going to some meetings together; and I go to others myself; I really do want to make it; I keeping asking myself why is it so hard when I see others making it work; and then I hear stories from people who had many years of soberity slipping; I realize I'm not alone, but sometimes I feel so alone

Does your sober friend know you've been having a hard time again?
Maybe this day one is a great day to go to a meeting.
A little over seven months ago I started going to meetings regularly. I have been clean and sober ever since, one day at a time. I never, EVER thought it was possible for me to be sober in recovery and actually enjoy it.
You can do this.

I haven't told her, but she knows; there is a womens meeting tonight at my favorite group that I am planning to go to; I am hoping my friend will go with me; I need to find the courage to raise my hand when they ask if there is anyone in their first 30 days
