I'm surprised how hard it was to stay sober yesterday. I was feeling pretty emotional. Had a psychologist appointment and I guess it just opened the emotional flood gate. I received a lot of Birthday wishes and that made me feel good. Right now, I'm having issues about feeling like I have worth. I'm 25 and all my peers are growing in their successes and I'm floating around without a job. It's hard not to compare yourself to others. Especially when the person you are with is fairly successful and is still hard on himself for not being better than he is...

Glad I'm still sober... 55 days. Warding off depression... Stay sober Melvin... Stay sober.

Hey Melvin, I just did my 21st sober! I know what you mean, I had people trying to attack me with alcohol from every area, but I somehow got through it without drinking any.

Happy Birthday ((Melvinsober))! Congratulations on your 55 days, too. You are definitely a worthwhile person, but I know it took me a while in recovery to even begin to think that way about myself.

7 and congrats on 55 days! Don't despair. You are still fairly early in sobriety and it takes time to get back to normal. Stay sober and treat yourself well and this too should pass. If it doesn't, see your doctor for a check up to rule out physical causes for your depression.
