Day 3
Welcome to SR
Day 3 is hard. I remember. I would suggest reading and posting as much as you can. This is a really supportive family and there will always be somebody here willing to listen.
There is also a group on this thread ' the class of march 2013'. Everybody there has given up at some point this month, and are going through the same feelings as you.
Hang in there x

Welcome to day 3!! or 180 hours, or 4320 minutes, or 259200 seconds! Pretty big numbers eh??
As you start to sober up, your head will start to clear up and you may find that stupid little annoying aggrivating things will really start to bug you! Completely normal!
I'm at day 17 and still am pretty irritable but I just accept that as part of the sobriety. I can say that level of irritability is getting less and less so that is a good sign.
Also be well aware that your alcoholic voice (AV) is going to use anything ANYTHING it can to get you to consume booze. S/he is such a lost little thing without booze and really wants to get drunk! But it has no power, you are the power so tell it to take a hike. As the days go by, you will find things do get easier and you'll really notice how much better over all you feel, that is the best part of quitting!!
Good luck in your quest!!

You are so much more than the worst thing you've
ever done. - Fr. Gregory Boyle, Homeboy Industries
I really want to believe this quote! It is day 8! Feelin' pretty good today! I still feel sort of alone, but not as bad as earlier! Just tryin' to get back to normal. Whatever that is. Music is my savior. "Life is Beautiful"!

you are almost over the hardest part...hang in there. it does get easier and easier...
do one hour at a time if you have to...it worked for me..then 24 hours will work great..I do not want to go though the start again...you do not want to go though the 3 days again..make it 4...

Hi trench, I am starting Day 3 as well. Love feeling so good in the morning, but have been having terrible mood swings. Feel so positive and happy one minute and then the next minute I am irritable, impatient and ready to scream, usually over stupid things. I have been told this is normal, I hope? I am right here with you, still having the craving for wine, but we can do this, keep reminding yourself of how much you DON'T miss the hangovers!
Hi tfrench,
Congratulations on 8 days!
I had an alone feeling when I first quit. This site helped a bunch. So did getting involved with exercise and playing guitar. They essentially became my substitute for alcohol and it has worked well for me so far. Do you have any interests that you now have the time to explore?
