Ha!
This morning was a familiar situation. I used to wait for my husband to leave for work, and while the kids were asleep I'd run down to the store and grab a bottle. I'd be pretty much over it by the time they woke up.
I thought about that today. I thought about it hard. I probably would have done it, except My Husband Took the Keys!
I'm actually laughing. Good for him.

I know the feeling. On a few occasions i've been in the store, just stood looking at the beer like a complete mentalist for ages white knuckling my urge away.
Sometimes when I woke up early and the 'buzz' had wore off, i'd go to the corner shop at 7am in the morning to buy more booze. In my crazed mind, I thought this would appear perfectly acceptable if I 'put my work clothes on'. So i'd venture out, at 7am, shirted up and buy an expensive bottle of wine so I didn't 'look like an alcoholic', return to bed, and drink until I fell back to sleep. Its completely crazy behaviour!

Ha, MrBeagle! I used to do bizarre things that I thought disguised me as well... like buying a bunch of random stuff along with the booze. As if the sales clerk would really think "Ah yes, this nice young lady is just doing her Monday afternoon shopping: paper towels, cereal, and a liter of vodka. Nothing odd about that."
