How I handled calls from using 'friends'
I was talking to someone new to recovery today and recalled and suggested a trick I used in early sobriety/clean time to avoid people who would offer me drugs. I thought I'd post it here in case anyone wanted to use it as well.
Anywho, just changed my message on my phone to say, "Sorry, I'm not available right now. Feel free to try me at work at xxx-xxxx."
I inserted the number of the local Drug Enforcement Office. Amazing how quickly the calls stopped and I couldn't buy drugs in my town for any amount of money overnight.
