I drink a ton of coffee anyway.

Heard this weekend of a new study on stroke prevention benefits of coffee and tea.

I get fed up reading about the benefits of red wine. I guarantee it wasn't doing me any good.

My coffee intake definitely increased and I was a bit worried about it so I switched to decaff (I found a good one that doesn't taste pointless). Now I only have one real cup of coffee a day... but about 20 + herbal teas...

I've been sober 11 days and during my drinking days I drank TONS of coffee all before noon! I'm worried that coffee and the associated caffeine might be one of the drivers of my anxiety and stress that gives me cravings to relax by drinking. I've cut back to one small cup in the morning with my cigs because I'm not ready to quit everything at once. I 'm Trying Coconut water and decaf green tea as my go to when I 'm tired of water. I guess the point is watch out for too much coffee because our sleep and calmness are too important.

I have insomnia whether I have coffee or not. I try not to have any after 6 pm or so, unless I'm out with friends and we hit up a coffee shop.

A side note: tried SleepyTime tea this week. It works for relaxing to sleep.

I quit drinking coffee before beer and found coffee was much easier to quit. I now drink lots of water and occasionally some hot tea when I get that taste for java.
4 moths no coffee, 31 days no booze.
Tomorrow will be a serious test considering I have never gone a March 17th without drinking beer......
Happy St Patricks day all!

Not sure why I jumped on the coffee train after giving up the wine but I think it probably has something to do with ritual. After work instead of having a glass (or 6!) of wine, I make a cup of coffee. It gives me a little energy to find activities to keep me out of trouble. I find that being sober and achieving sobriety is very exhausing; perhaps that is another reason why I drink coffee!

I had a lifetime coffee addiction but gave it up a week after quitting drinking, so 32 days now. I find I am much calmer now. I do have a cup of herbal tea in the morning that has green tea in it, so a small amount of caffeine.

I really started drinking more coffee. Then started drinking lots more hot black and calming teas. Maybe it's because my addictive mind tells me I need something to drink to stimulate different thoughts, emotions, and actions...

But I sure feel a lot better sticking to coffee amd tea!

Off the subject a little bit. I am on day 7 of being sober but I am still drinking fluids like I am dehydrated. I used to have to drink a ton of fluids after drinking. Somedays I wouldn't have to pee all day becuase I was so dehydrated. Is this normal to still be drinking this much fluid? Am I still dehydrated from the years of alcohol abuse?

I've been a heavy coffee drinker for years. Surprisingly, I spent four years in the Army with no coffee. Anyone who has been in the US Military knows that coffee drinking is almost mandatory LOL. Not sure how I made through those years without it.

But now I've been cutting down, especially at night.

YES!!!!

I grind my own beans. I like all kind of coffee from different countries.

I like iced coffee too. I make it at home. I get it from Starbucks. I am hooked.

I drink mostly AA coffee.

Studies show that if you drink a cup of AA coffee a day it will keep you sober ....

All the best.

Used to be a huge coffee addict before I quit drinking. For some reason, coffee just isn't the same anymore and it makes me feel all funky. Now, it's all about the tea -- love my tea.

Funny you should ask. When my drinking increased, I began to not like coffee anymore. I was needing grapefruit juice by the quart to compensate the drinking. Anyway, quit drinking and now coffee is great again! And my intake is going up, but I o to rehab tomorrow and NO caffeine! Seriously?
