30 days and thanks
I haven't posted much recently, in part because I'm so new to sobriety that I don't feel I have advice for anyone. But I've been here, reading the posts and following your stories, and it's all been immensely helpful. I'm constantly impressed by all of the kind and wise words exchanged here. Today is 30 days sober for me and I can't believe I've made it this far. It's been very difficult, but it seems every day is just a little bit easier. I don't know that I could have done it without SR - even mainly as a reader - again thanks to all.

Congrats Elderine. I am on day 3 and haven't stopped posting yet I find it helps to get it all down on 'paper' and to get feedback from members who have a lot of sobriety under their belt - its great to get their advice in what I am doing and how I can do things better - can't wait to successfully complete some more days - but just taking it one day at a time xxx

Thanks for all of the kind comments, everyone! I'm amazed that I've made it this far, but I suppose that's the magic of one day at a time.
I'm a little worried about next week. In order to prioritize sobriety, for the last month I've been really holing up and avoiding all social situations that feature booze. But I'm getting restless and need to be more in the world - my biggest problem so far has been isolation. So next week there are going to be at least three parties/drinking challenges, and I hope I'll be able to handle them. Sobriety has begun to almost feel normal, so I hope I can hang onto that in difficult situations. Doing karaoke, at a bar, SOBER??! Fingers crossed....

Congratulations on 30 days! As far as the upcoming events, maybe have an escape ready? If things feel too uncomfortable, leave. I understand the isolation thing, but being around people who were partying in early recovery, for me, wasn't easy.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy
