Hello,
I just joined this forum today after randomly stumbling across it while searching for alcohol recovery on Google. After reading a few posts I made the decision to join and be a part of the community as I think it will help my progress into recovery. Long story short, I have been drinking for 15+ years fairly consistently on a weekly basis and almost every single weekend. Started off slow then progressed into binge drinking to the point of blackouts and/or vomiting just about every weekend. I made the decision to quit on Jan 1st of this year and my life is slowly changing for the better. I did have a glass of beer a few weeks ago to see if I could actually do it without losing further control. I was able to have 1 beer and walked away but the next day I felt awful about it and have not had anything alcohol since. My plan is to stay sober going forward. Anyways, wanted to introduce myself and look forward to reading and posting.
